          | Crosby, Stills & Nash supplied some of the best harmony vocal lines in
popular music during the '60s and 70's. I don't know how long it took
for them to work out those vocal arrangements but some people could
never do that if they had a million years. Then came Stephen Stills'
old buddy from Buffalo Springfield, Neil Young. This album compiles
their best tunes pre, during and post Young. My favorite is "Suite:
Judy Blue Eyes", but the remaining songs are excellent as well. Songs
like: "Helplessly Hoping", "Our House", "Teach Your Children", and
Neil Young's "Ohio". The harmonies are phenomenal. Any musician that
aspires to have a band that utilizes harmony vocals should purchase
this CD for a good lesson in how it's supposed to be done. It doesn't
hurt that the songwriting is also great. |
