| Three DVD set contains all 14 episodes from
the Mr. Bean television series. You may have even seen some
of the episodes on A&E. If you saw the Mr. Bean movie and
not the original television shows, I would consider that a crying
shame. The movie was not an adequate representation of Rowan
Atkinson's comedic abilities. In fact, it would be a poor
substitute for the work displayed in the television series.
I say this without hesitation or reservation: Rowan Atkinson is a
comedic genius. Most of his comedy is physical and he most
often does an entire scene without saying so much as a single
word. Yet he is fully capable of generating more than his
fair share of laughs. The scenarios he and the other writers
dream up are not only funny but completely original. I can
honestly say that I have never scene anything like it. Along
with the original 14 episodes, this set also includes
never-before-seen-on-TV sketches, a 40 minute documentary
and a Rowan Atkinson Biography. |
