| It is usually assumed that some of the world's
best liars are lawyers. In Liar Liar Jim Carrey plays
the part of a lawyer who happens to be quite the liar. That
is, until his son makes a birthday wish that his father could tell
the truth for just one day. And what a day that is!
It's amazing how much trouble a person gets into when always
having to tell the absolute truth. This is one of Jim
Carrey's better films because he's not relying on special effects
like he had done in The Mask and the film features Carrey
in a rare role (for him) as that of a father. A father who
constantly breaks the promises he makes to his son. That is
of course what prompts his son to make the aforementioned wish.
We have the usual happy ending and Carrey has you rooting for him
in the end. Even though he is a lawyer. |
