This is an excellent deal. Four movies
on DVD for the price of one new release. The First Airport
movie was originally released in 1970, and raked in over $100
million at the US box office. It then set the stage for more
box office hits in the Airport series. The cast
included: Burt Lancaster, Dean Martin and Jacqueline Bisset.
Helen Hayes won the Academy Award for best supporting actress, for
her part in the film.
Airport '75 featured Charlton Heston, Gloria Swanson (in her
last film role), Linda Blair, and Helen Reddy as the singing
nun. Karen Black plays the part of a Stewardess that has to
fly the plane after the pilots are incapacitated by the airline's
mid-air collision with a private plane.
Keeping the all-star cast tradition, Airport '77 included
screen legends James Stewart and Olivia de Havilland.
Christopher Lee, Lee Grant and Jack Lemmon didn't hurt the
production any either.
The last one in the series, Airport '79, was not as
good as its predecessors but still a good movie just the same.
So, considering the price and the quality of the first three, the
four DVD set is quite the value for just over $21. |
