| Apparently, it's not only loose lips that sink
ships, icebergs can do a number on a boat too. We all have
some knowledge of that luxury liner that had sunk into the cold
Atlantic on that horrible night of April 14, 1912. But this
movie really helps to not only bring that horror to life but rises
to a level of realism by which story had never been depicted
before. The main characters of the movie are fictitious but
add a personal touch to the story. I think that helps to
convey the tragedy of the story as well. The movie deserved
every one of its 11 Academy Awards (including best picture and
director). If the amazing effects and the shear scope of
this colossal production aren't enough, the wonderful performances
of Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet Gloria Stuart and Billy Zane
will more than suffice. |
