| This is the Movie for which Denzel Washington
won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. However, the performance of the
entire cast was also highly commendable. The movie depicts
the participation of African American soldiers in Civil War
combat. Matthew Broderick plays the part of Robert
Gould Shaw, the son of Boston abolitionists who volunteers to
command the all-black 54th Regiment of the Massachusetts Volunteer
Infantry. The film also features memorable performances by
Morgan Freeman and Cary Elwes. The movie ends with the
assault on Fort Wagner in South Carolina. You absolutely
must either see or buy this movie. Of course there'd be no
sense in buying the movie unless you intend to watch it.
Unless it's a gift for someone else of course. Then it might
be considered rude to open it up, watch it and then give it as a
present. |
