| My favorite part in this movie is when Colonel
Chamberlain (Played by Jeff Daniels) orders his men to charge down
the hill with bayonets affixed, towards the
attacking Rebel Army because they don't have enough ammo to fend
off another Rebel attack. Sure it was a gamble, but it
worked. Jeff Daniels was excellent in this
movie, which also features: Tom Berenger, Sam Elliott and Martin
Sheen as Robert E. Lee. The Battle of Gettysburg was
regarded as the turning point for the Civil War as well as one of
its bloodiest battles. When it was all over, over 50,000 men
were dead. This movie dramatizes the events but it helps to
make history come alive. |
