Gary Cooper is phenomenal in this movie.  Cooper plays a sheriff who is waiting for the noon train to drop off a few dastardly fellers he had once sent to jail.  Obviously, they want revenge.  The townsfolk strongly urge Cooper to just leave town to save himself.  They do this primarily because the gutless yellow bellies aren't all that willing to help him.  But Cooper goes it alone and opens up a serious can of whip-ass on them.  With no thanks to the local towns folk, obviously.  This is without a doubt one of the greatest westerns ever.  It also features great performances by Grace Kelly and Lon Chaney Jr. This is a must-own for any fan of westerns. You'll love the ending and the final gunfight.
