| Braveheart shows that the concept of freedom
was valued long before America was even discovered. Mel
Gibson plays the part of William Wallace, a brave Scotsman who
rallied his countrymen to fight for liberation. Braveheart
won the Best Picture Oscar and and Mel Gibson also won an Oscar
for Best Director. The battle scenes alone were enough to
make this film an epic but the life the film gives to the
character of William Wallace helps to put it over the top.
Mel Gibson has been fortunate enough to have starred in a number
of commercially and critically successful films but this one still
stands out as one of his best. |
