| For that extra touch of authenticity, many of
the battles were recreated on actual battlefield locations.
A Bridge Too Far features an all-star cast with the likes of: Sean
Connery, Anthony Hopkins, Gene Hackman, Robert Redford, Laurence
Olivier, Ryan O'Neal, Elliott Gould, Michael Caine and James Caan.
The story is about Operation Market Garden which included the
largest airborne assault in military history and became one of the
costliest battles of World War II. The all-star cast was
also one of the costliest casts assembled up to that point but
Director Richard Attenborough and Producer Joseph Levine agreed
that it was well worth the expense. Judging from the end
result, I would also agree. |
